Upcoming Events :: Screening of New Movie - Kaluoka'Hina

Catch Kaluoka'Hina, The Enchanted Reef; this coming October 2012 at the Melaka Planetarium Adventure Science Centre!

A short synopsis on this movie -

The vastness of our planet's oceans guards unimaginable secrets. One of its most precious is Kaluoka'hina, the enchanted reef whose magic protects it against humans finding it. Kaluoka'hina's colorful inhabitants live in peace until the volcano erupts, and the spell is broken. Now it’s up to Jake, the young sawfish, and his paranoid pal, Shorty, to restore the magic of Kaluoka'hina. Their only lead: the ancient legend that tells of touching the Moon..

In conjunction with the screening of our new movie, MPASC along with Malaysian Marine Park Department (Jabatan Taman Laut Malaysia) will organize an exhibition on ocean science and it's inhabitant. Under the 'Ocean n Us' banner, this correlated program has been anticipated to create awareness about  the world beneath the sea, the importance of the ocean to us, the relationship between Earth-Ocean-Climate and how we co-depend on each other.

A lot of interesting activities has been planned for this program which would take place starting from 08 October to 30 November 2012 on Level G, MPASC.

Among the activities in lined up:
  • Exhibition on the ocean, its ecosystem, and its inhabitant.
  • "Talk about the Ocean Sciences" with the Malaysian Marine Park Department, INOS of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and other affiliate agencies.
  • Demonstration on Scuba features by the scuba-diving experts.
  • Activities/experiment for primary & secondary school students.
  • Coloring contest and paper sand art for pre-schoolers / kindergartens.
Experience all this at Melaka Planetarium Adventure Science Centre, this coming October & November.
